Popeda - Tahdotko mut tosiaan (translate attempt) Reply with quote
Lompakossa Väinö Linna yksinäinen on
Kas pitkään riittänyt ei tili kortiston
Loppuviikon meikämanne syö taas kynsiään
Ellei sossunjonoon tinkimään käy ylpeydestään.

Huomaamatta painuu ryhti kumaraan
Kun karisseita kappaleita itsetunnostaan
Etsii pitkin pientareita pala kerrallaan
Yksin tuskin koskaan sitä enää kokooon saan.

refrain:
Tahdotko mut tosiaan suhteeseen vakavaan
Pitkin polkuu poloista rinnallasi tarpomaan
Elinkautistani seurassasi päivästä päivään lusimaan
Aamuteesi kanssas jakamaan?

Pettymykset pelottavat kovempaakin kulkijaa
Ehdoin tahdoin tuskin kukaan pelleks haluaa
Onneton se on ken rakkautta turhaan tunnustaa
Ja onneton ken pakenee kun jäädä haluaa.

refrain

Tahdotko mut tosiaan suhteeseen vakavaan
Pitkin polkuu poloista rinnallasi tarpomaan
Elinkautistani seurassasi päivästä päivään lusimaan

And now my attempt to translate it:

In the wallet Väinö Linna is lonely.
Bank account did not last long.
Rest of this week gypsy me will be eating his nails.
unless to social security offices line goes to bargain for his pride.

Unnoticed posture caves in.
As peaces fallen off of his self-esteem
Searching along the shoulders of roads pieace by pieace
alone hardly ever can recollect it.

Do you truly want me to a serious relationship.
Along a poor path to walk besides you
Life sentence day to day to go throug with you
Your morning tea to share with you

Dissapointments scare even the tougher traveller
On purpose hardly anyone wants to be a clown
unhappy is he who admits unnecessary love
and unhappy is he who runs when he wants to stay

Do you truly want me to a serious relationship.
Along a poor path to walk besides you
Life sentence day to day to go throug with you
Your morning tea to share with you

I hope you understand the story of this song and if you have something you dont understand or think is wrong just post and ill edit the lyrics or try to help you understand. If you have some other songs you would like to somewhat know the lyrics to. just message me and ill try to do my best. Thanks

Guessing Väinö Linna appears on a Finnish currency, looked it up in wikipedia.com: Linna was pictured on the 20 markkaa banknote which was in use from 1993 to the introduction of the Euro (2002).

The song came out on the 1994 album H.Ö.N.Ö.

Per www.popeda.com: Levyn ehdoton helmi on kuitenkin "Tahdotko mut tosiaan", josta bändi sai suuren hitin. Biisin sävelsi [Markku] Petander ja sanoitti Pauli Hanhiniemi.

So the music is by Markku Petander and the lyrics by Pauli Hanhiniemi.

Lusty live performance: View Here

Per www.allmusicguide.com: The band has gone through several lineups, with Pauli "Pate" Mustajärvi the lone constant.

So that's Pate Mustajärvi in the lead.
