Where in Finland are you from?
All members live either in Helsinki, Vantaa or Espoo. Our rehearsal place is in Helsinki.
How would you describe your band for those who don’t know you?
We play a mixture of rock and grunge with a progressive touch and incorporate influences from various genres and styles (ranging from reggae to tango).
When did you form as a group?
The band was formed in August 2008 by Henri and Kristian. A couple of months later Patrik joined the group, and in February 2009 Marc Taylor became the singer. In March 2011, the band parted ways with Marc and in June 2011 Steve Baker became our new singer.
What was the inspiration for your recent album?
Lyrics revolve pretty much around introspective psychology. Musically we were propably inspired by such a vast number of things, that it would be impossible to list them here.
What other releases do you have?
Enlightenment Is Serious Business (2009)
What is your favorite song on your most recent album?
Since there are only two songs on the latest release, and they represent quite different (but equally important) sides of the band, it’s hard to choose a favourite. But today we’ll go with “Feeler”.
Do you have any gigs coming up?
October 22 at Ravintola Ralli, Helsinki and December 16 at Club Darkside, Helsinki
What’s your favorite type of venue to play?
We like all kinds of venues, but small clubs usually have a nice intimate atmosphere that tend to create this great positive feedback loop of energy between the crowd and the band.
If you could play anywhere in the world this week, where would it be?
The amphitheater at Acropolis, Athens.
Do you have a Website, MySpace, Facebook, Twitter etc?
What are your influences as a band?
Pink Floyd, Kingston Wall, Alice in Chains, Tool, King Crimson, Iron Maiden, Faith No More, System of a Down…
People who enjoy your music tend to like what other bands?
Pretty much the ones we listed as our influences.
Are you signed to a label?
Where do you think you’ll be as a band in 5 years?
We’ll be recording our third full length album and playing as much gigs as possible.
Is there anything else people should know about Aeon Antenna?
There will be more music and videos coming from our direction in the near future. Keep you antennae tuned!
