Where in Finland are you from?

Oulu, in northern Finland

How would you describe your band for those who don’t know you?

Five dumbasses who play aggressive, heavy and groovy melodic metal and headband like there’s no tomorrow.

When did you form as a group?

Around the year 2001 when Hape joined us as a vocalist.

What was the inspiration for your recent album?

Lots of kick ass songs ready to be recorded.

What other releases do you have?

Mors Subita has released a couple demo-MCD’s, one demo-CD and one EP.

  • -Synopsis – MCD (2003)
  • -Epoch – MCD (2005)
  • -Paranea – Demo (2007)
  • -Sound of Spite – EP (2009)

What is your favorite song on your most recent album?

I’d have to say “The Sermon” because that was the easiest tune to compose and it turned out to be a killer tune. The composition as a whole – riffs, arrangement, lyrics etc. was pretty much nailed in the first version I recorded at home.

Do you have any gigs coming up?

Yes, we’re doing a bunch of gigs in Finland in September and October:

  • 02.09. Turku, S-Osis w/ Atretic Intestine, Corpset, Inimicality & Trakooma
  • 09.09. Pori, Monttu /w Re-Armed & Crystalic
  • 23.09. Kokkola, The Rock Pub w/ Re-Armed & Crystalic
  • 24.09. Oulu, Nuclear Nightclub w/ Re-Armed & Crystalic

  • (More gigs TBA)

We’re hoping to hit abroad in the near future. So, promoters, please contact mors_subita [at] hotmail [dot] com

What’s your favorite type of venue to play?

The venue type doesn’t really matter. We enjoy all gigs very much. Of course you’re always looking for that special atmosphere, and when that hits, it’s amazing. Whether it was a big festival or a small club, it doesn’t really matter.

If you could play anywhere in the world this week, where would it be?

Brutal Assault in Czech Republic would be pretty sweet.

Do you have a Website, MySpace, Facebook, Twitter etc?

Yes, actually all of the above:

What are your influences as a band?

I think all of our band can approve on that most of our musical influences are from the early 90′s metal. So, that music era is our biggest influence. Non-music related influences are booze, hangovers and sauna.

People who enjoy your music tend to like what other bands?

Arch Enemy and At the Gates to mention a few.

Are you signed to a label?

Yes, Mors Subita was recently signed to Violent Journey Records.

Where do you think you’ll be as a band in 5 years?

Touring abroad, creating and enjoying music with bands and fans!
