Where in Finland are you from?

We rumble in Tampere!

How would you describe your band for those who don’t know you?

Basically we are four top notch lads who like to rock’n'roll. We have known each other since kindergarten. Back then eating sand was our shared dream – now it is this band.

You could say our music nowadays is a mix of post- metal, unique modern vocals, big time melodies and handful of classic rock spirit.

Not only do we all love to play rough groovy riffs and beats, we also tend to do everything by our own hands: recordings, custom guitars, music videos, cover arts and websites.

When did you form as a group?

We have played together in different line-ups before, but Amendfoil was officially formed in summer 2007.

What was the inspiration for your recent album?

Our beloved lead singer had a vision to make a more organic record than the previous Act of Grace – EP. I guess the inspiration to Eon – songs basically came from the dying mother earth and nature. And yes, we are bunch of hippies!

What other releases do you have?

We now have four self-made releases:

  • Eon – Single (2011)
  • Act of Grace – Ep (2009)
  • Relinquishing the Light – Demo (2009)
  • Demo 2008 (2008)

What is your favorite song on your most recent album?

I would say it’s the third track, Earth. It’s a good mixture of light and darkness. Contrasts baby! Quite catchy chorus too. We have just released a new music video from it. (Check it out!)

Do you have any gigs coming up?

Actually we are just one gig away finishing this springs Eon – tour. It takes place in Jack The Rooster in Tampere, July 6th. Come and have a blast with us! We are writing new material this summer so the next tour will be in the autumn.

What’s your favorite type of venue to play?

Our gigs are super energetic and chaotic, so we need lots of space! I guess the best venue we have played so far is the stage of Pakkahuone, Tampere. There’s enough space to rumble there! :D

If you could play anywhere in the world this week, where would it be?

If you could play anywhere in the world this week, where would it be? Hmmm.. I would not mind being in the line-up of for example Glastonbury Festivals. Like right after Queens Of The Stone Age!

Do you have a Website, MySpace, Facebook, Twitter etc?

The easiest way to follow our news feed, download our music and watch our music videos is getting to know these two websites:

What are your influences as a band?

There is no band that would rise above others. During the years the our favorite genres of metal have varied and a lot influences have also been taken from outside of metal. All members of Amendfoil have dissenting favorite genres and bands, which variably affect the result.

People who enjoy your music tend to like what other bands?

This is extremely hard! We get influences from so many directions, all bands that I could mention would somehow be wrong. The best way is to listen to Amendfoil and see for yourself if you can find some of your favorite bands there!

Are you signed to a label?

Working on it.

Where do you think you’ll be as a band in 5 years?

Hopefully we are touring around the globe and spreading the joy of our music.

Is there anything else people should know about Amendfoil?

Check out our newest music video Earth at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6nQsplRub2c. Trust me, you will love us! And of course we would love to see you guys on our gigs!
