04/11: Baton Rogue Morgue
Ridin’ Into Hell With Rock N Roll…

Baton Rogue Morgue
What would seemingly sound like an L.A band , actually hails from the cold lands of Finland. Baton Rogue Morgue moves along the lines of W.A.S.P and the tactical, all-hit-structures of the long missing Cinderella, all this revisited and re-vested with the newer and more aggressive sounds of modern Heavy Metal. Every track on their latest release “High End Of The Season” is saturated with attitude which does not limit itself to the shallow confines of gimmick, but thrives within the very structure of the riffs.

Baton Rogue Morgue are just what Heavy Metal was in the 80′s and what it is supposed to be now. I would hazard to call this the best Heavy Metal album of the year when it comes to the Jorzine entries, the only thing to withhold the bestowal of such a title is the fact that this album came out in 2009 (while Jorzine was contacted only at the end of 2010 by the agency in charge of the band).

Whether you’re an old school hair-tossing metal lover or a modern day headbanger, ‘High End Of The Season’ has everything you could ever need or want in your daily dose of ball busting metal. You won’t be disappointed, not even with that last track.
