Where in Finland are you from?
Well I am from Vantaa (ca 20km from Helsinki) Jukka, Tuukka and Riku live in Helsinki and Janne lives in Hyvinkää (ca 50km from Helsinki) Our rehearsal studio is in Helsinki and our demoing studio is in Vantaa.
How would you describe your band for those who don’t know you?
We play thrash/death metal with a groovy modern twist.
When did you form as a group?
I formed the band in 2002.
What was the inspiration for your recent album?
The idea for making this album was mine because we had to advance from a demo band to a more “pro” band. It was do or die time for HATETREND. The lyrical themes vary from my personal struggles to the discontent I have for the state of our world.
What other releases do you have?
We have 5 demo releases: Unstoppable Life Trauma, Lost Faith Inc., My Own Private Hell, Abandoned and Borrowed Time.
What is your favorite song on your most recent album?
My personal favorite is Free Yourself.
Do you have any gigs coming up?
We have the record release party at Nosturin Alakerta on February 18th 2011 and after that we will head to eastern Finland (Lappeenranta) to play a show at Lucky Monkeys on February 25th 2011.
What’s your favorite type of venue to play?
Well we have played all our shows except for one at small venues. So it’s hard to say what would be the coolest kind of venue to play…
If you could play anywhere in the world this week, where would it be?
Opening for Metallica at Madison square garden sounds good 
Do you have a Website, MySpace, Facebook, Twitter etc?
What are your influences as a band?
Well I’m pretty sure that there are elements from thrash and death metal and also some nice spices from rock n’ roll.
People who enjoy your music tend to like what other bands?
Pantera, Lamb of God, Testament, Sepultura, The Haunted etc.
Are you signed to a label?
Yes we are signed to a Finnish indie label called Violent Journey Records.
Where do you think you’ll be as a band in 5 years?
Touring the world supporting the release of our 4th album.
