Where in Finland are you from?

We are from middlelands, the City of Jyväskylä

How would you describe your band for those who don’t know you?

Open-minded in all aspects. We try to compose music which is moving us and hopefully other people too. Definitely not easiest kinda stuff. During the years of ‘industry’ we have felt that everything should not be easy and radio friendly material. We want to challenge ourselves and our listeners also.

When did you form as a group?

In the end of 2009.

What was the inspiration for your recent album?

Not album out yet – be patient.

What other releases do you have?

Because the band has formed recently we do not have much material yet. But check out our new demo ‘Well Enough : Demo 2011′ our website www.deathisliberty.org or myspace.com/deathisliberty or reverbnation.com/deathisliberty.

Do you have any gigs coming up?

Not yet…gotta compose enough material.

What’s your favorite type of venue to play?

With previous band I like most a lot clubs like 500-600 people venues.

If you could play anywhere in the world this week, where would it be?

Supporting band called Metallica anywhere…

Do you have a Website, MySpace, Facebook, Twitter etc?

What are your influences as a band?

We are open minded and there are not some specific influences, maybe you will find hints of Devin Townsend and Pink Floyd from us…

People who enjoy your music tend to like what other bands?

Devin Townsend, Tool, Katatonia, Karnivool, King Crimson, Riverside, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Megadeth, Mew, Coheed & Cambria, Mastodon…to name a few…

Are you signed to a label?

Not yet, but will be!

Where do you think you’ll be as a band in 5 years?

In a good and productive shape with a fresh ideas – I hope so…

Is there anything else people should know about Death Is Liberty?

To be patient (we too…). We try to compose songs and write lyrics which are giving good vibes to us and our fans. Like said earlier material is not going to be easy to categorized and everyone needs patience to find out what the band is doing about. We are not trying to create wheel again, rather combine and mix all what we have learnt and liked during the years to our kinda form – to stuff which is to be recognized Death Is Liberty. The path just began…we hope we will found our friends to this journey.
