Dead By You
Dead By You was founded in Jyväskylä, Finland in 2006. The band started working immediately with writing music and pushing themselves to the local venues. The response they got was very supportive and soon the word was out about a new hot band around to check out. A few months later, the guys were ready to record a four song EP, Dead By You aka ‘Black Acoustic Rock’.
After awhile, the EP found its way to producer Johnny Lee Michaels. Their first plan was to record two songs, ‘Waterfalls’ and ‘Romeo’ but the co-operation between producer and band was so good that they decided to go for a full-length album, which they finished this summer with nine songs. It’s going to be called ‘Strangers In A Parade’.
In the midst of recordings, Dead By You decided to participate in the Radio Rock Starba contest with their newly recorded song ‘Waterfalls’. The song immediately rose up to the finals beating out over 800 bands. According to the jury, Dead By You was extremely close to winning the competition and Radio Rock was so impressed with the band, that they promised to put the band on air once their upcoming album is published.
In October 2010, the debut album ‘Strangers In A Parade’ was released by Bad Habits Records along with Playground Music Finland as the distributor. At the moment, the band is touring around Finland and promoting their recently released album.
In the past three year period, the band has gone through big changes, from the garage band they used to be, to a tight developed working unit, aiming high at their attention of becoming something that people will enjoy for many years to come.
