Where in Finland are you from?

We come from the sunny beaches of Pernaja, located in the very South of Finland and from Hyvinkää, which is a small drive to the North from Helsinki.

How would you describe your band for those who don’t know you?

Think of Katy Perry and 30 Seconds To Mars.. We sound nothing like those two. We are just basically a bunch of post-teenagers who like to noodle around with our instruments and being all proggy and metal.

When did you form as a group?

Our boy band started the joy ride to wealth and fame in the end of 2008 at some random Hyvinkää bar.

What was the inspiration for your recent album?

There are so many different sources of inspiration that it’s just impossible to come up with one, but basically we do this to meet women.

What other releases do you have?

No other releases as We Are The Illusion.

What is your favorite song on your most recent album?

I’d say Heroes. Mainly because recording it was the most fun I’ve ever had and also, because it has so many different styles mashed into one.

Do you have any gigs coming up?

Yessss! Look out, 2011!

What’s your favorite type of venue to play?

Our practice space. No pressure. I think we don’t have enough experience of different kinds of venues to answer this question properly.

If you could play anywhere in the world this week, where would it be?

Probably a place as small as possible to make it look like we actually have fans in the crowd.

Why yes, yes we do have lots of stuff:

What are your influences as a band?

Gore, guts and ganja. The big G. But seriously speaking, I guess the listeners would immediately find “sumeriancore” elements in us. And yeah we do listen to a lot of modern metal, but also oldskool prog like Dream Theater, Symphony X and the likes. All of us have completely different “favorite” bands, but it all comes down to metal and ancient Egypt.

People who enjoy your music tend to like what other bands?

Apparently these bands are Veil of Maya, Circle of Contempt, Born of Osiris etc. There are a lot of different bands, but those three came instantly in my mind.

Are you signed to a label?

Nope.

Where do you think you’ll be as a band in 5 years?

I’m pretty certain we will be driving Ferraris and owning our own 1000 square meter palaces. But if that doesn’t happen, we will be flipping burgers at McDonalds. It’s really hard to say what will happen because it’s so much about the listeners and the fans and what happens in the metal scene.
