Juho:
Yeah, we’ve also had our good friend Joona Hulmi playing Keyboards and Percussion on couple of gigs. Keys have become a critical asset in our sound.
Where in Finland are you from?
Teemu:
From Stable, heh heh.
Juho:
That is funny but true. Meaning, we have recorded every song so far at this barn, so there’s the big secret to our name.
Teemu:
In a way the band was shaped in and after the studio.
How would you describe your band for those who don’t know you?
Teemu:
We got a band together in which we can make songs that are inspired by our daily playlists and influences. It gets together as something that sounds Garage.
Juho:
That is what makes it so interesting and special. Everyone feels so comfortable playing with each other so you don’t have to pretend anything. If you come to see us live, you see… well… us. Teemu is the only one faking it.
Teemu:
Ha ha… Hey, what?!
When did you form as a group?
Teemu & Juho:
We’ve been together for less than a year.
What was the inspiration for your recent album?
Teemu:
Album’s hopefully coming out some day! The inspiration for the four songs we’ve released came from personal stuff and the barn. Live recording is quite sensitive, you know.
Juho:
You get a lot for that question from the lyrics really (which cant be heard). Ha! For me, inspiration comes from the feeling and the feeling is told by words. Not that the feeling ain’t there in the song itself. We all share the inspiration to do -what we consider- good music.
What other releases do you have?
Teemu:
We have put out four songs. They’ve been recorded at two sessions: first one in last winter and second in the summer.
Juho:
We have two or three unreleased songs from both sessions. Everything happened so fast the first time so we decided to give a couple of songs more time.
Teemu:
Matias does the mixing and mastering, so everything is done within From Stable. Those unreleased songs are waiting for the finishing touch and are going to be let out at some point.
Juho:
Though we don’t “touch” the sound too much. We record all the instruments live, and we love to leave the songs raw and alive. The mixing and mastering are mainly balancing the instruments.
What is your favorite song on your most recent album?
Juho:
All of the songs are strongly telling the emotions had at the time they’re written or recorded. Time by time you get there, amongst those feelings, in that moment the song becomes your favorite.
Do you have any gigs coming up?
Teemu:
After gigging mainly in Helsinki, clubs like Liberte, we finally have pleasure of doing a gig in Espoo. The place is called Olarius and we’re playing there 8th of October.
Juho:
The next Helsinki gig is in Bar Loose 20th of October, and we are really waiting for that one! Hope to see you there!
What’s your favorite type of venue to play?
Teemu:
Last gig at Nosturin Alakerta was great, the mood just happened to be right between the band and the people listening. I also liked the gig we got to play at Esplanadin Lava, Helsinki. Playing in the outdoors during daytime was fun: the atmosphere was great since people of all ages happened to be there in the garden relaxing on a sunny Saturday.
Juho:
Different situations can set the mood right. The chance of playing a good gig is equal everywhere you go.
If you could play anywhere in the world this week, where would it be?
Teemu & Juho:
We love to play anywhere, and we really like to be everywhere.

What are your influences as a band?
Teemu & Juho:
Mixing things up while keeping it simple.
People who enjoy your music tend to like what other bands?
Juho:
People tend to link our music to many various groups, so its hard to point out a specific band or artist.
Teemu:
Somewhat older people have combined our live performance to the olden days (only difference is that the world was black & white back then, I’m told), while younger listeners have associated our sound with the newer garage acts.
Juho:
Everything he says. Thrilled to see that our music ain’t restricted for certain people.
Are you signed to a label?
Teemu:
No
Juho:
Yes….. I mean he’s right.
Where do you think you’ll be as a band in 5 years?
Teemu:
If everything goes right, we’d make music that feels right at the time.
Juho:
Don’t get me wrong, man. We do those songs for the people, but we ain’t gonna change things up just to get into listeners ears, and pretend to do what we like. Its up to the people if we are gonna make it or not.
Teemu:
