Where in Finland are you from?
A small town called Valkeakoski
How would you describe your band for those who don’t know you?
Rocking metal that makes you crack a beer open. Or southern groove metal.
When did you form as a group?
About 2006. Can’t remember correctly I was very… very… drunk.
What was the inspiration for your recent album?
Well it’s “only” a demo but with the usual inspirations: Drinking, driving and womens satanic behavior.
What other releases do you have?
Two other, older demo’s with the same groove and vibes.
What is your favorite song on your most recent album?
I’d say “Way To Go”. The guys have digged the opening song “Burn Out”. They both kick ass though…
Do you have any gigs coming up?
Not at the moment no. We would like to have lots of gigs ’cause our music really works better live.
What’s your favorite type of venue to play?
Smaller club filled with the same spirited people we are. Brotherly beer drinking crowd.
If you could play anywhere in the world this week, where would it be?
Hmm… Tough one. Maybe Camden Underworld or Tavastia in Finland.
Do you have a Website, MySpace, Facebook, Twitter etc?
Facebook page is http://pa-in.facebook.com/group.php?v=wall&gid=54115840002
Myspace/Homepage is http://www.myspace.com/screamchain
That’s pretty much it.
What are your influences as a band?
The base influences have been COC, BLS, Pantera, Down. Of course we have our own personal influences to add also. For example Jack listens to a lot of Black Metal and T.T. to country stuff. Aside my metal I like blues and also some poppy shit that “our people” seem to shun but hey….I got the guys to dig Bumblefoot!
People who enjoy your music tend to like what other bands?
Well I think it’s pretty much the same shit as our influences. Beer drinking soundtracks. Hehe.
Are you signed to a label?
Unfortunately no. Would be cool though since there are not many of our kind in Finland. At least I’ve not heard of them. Gotta mention Razorblend here. That’s some damn good old school shit!!! Everyone should check ‘em out. Those guys rock!
Where do you think you’ll be as a band in 5 years?
Hopefully gigging more and having more listeners who like to chill out and rock to Screamchain.
Is there anything else people should know about Root Mean Square?
We like beer. Seriously! And if you like to organize a good old gig with us just throw us an email or go to MySpace or Facebook and ask. We’ll be happy to drink and rock the shit out of a crowd with you.
