Where in Finland are you from?

I guess you could say we are from Helsinki since 2 band members lives there.

How would you describe your band for those who don’t know you?

Pure energy on stage. Emotional music which comes from the heart.

When did you form as a group?

First jamming session took place in summer 2006. I guess it was that same night in sauna when we realized we had something special on our hands.

What was the inspiration for your recent album?

We haven’t released any albums yet. Working on it…

What other releases do you have?

We put out EP in 2008.

What is your favorite song on your most recent album?

If you consider EP our most recent “album” I’d say Revolution

Do you have any gigs coming up?

There are few gigs coming up but we are trying to put focus on writing new material and doing some producing on our older stuff.

What’s your favorite type of venue to play?

I must say personally that I like venues that handles 150-1000 people. I like the atmosphere of the good old rock clubs the most.

If you could play anywhere in the world this week, where would it be?

It would be somewhere in Australia because the weather is so crappy at the moment in Finland

Do you have a Website, MySpace, Facebook, Twitter etc?

Yes we have. MySpace, Facebook and Website. We’re planning to come up something new with the official website in the near future. So stay tuned for that and meanwhile feel free to join our myspace group and facebook group aswell.

What are your influences as a band?

Definetely those old power trios (Cream, Jimi Hendrix Experience) etc.

People who enjoy your music tend to like what other bands?

I don’t know? You tell me…

Are you signed to a label?

Working on it….

Where do you think you’ll be as a band in 5 years?

We have just arrived from our lenghty tour for promoting our second album and we are about to start to record our 3th album and we are planning to shoot the next video for our forthcoming single in space.

Is there anything else people should know about The Blanko?

Yes there is. We smell good.
