Where in Finland are you from?
I’m from Dublin, Ireland. Spent nearly ten years living in London & have now moved again & am living in Helsinki (That’s the gypsy in me!). Misty has been living all around Finland and Spain during his life. Indi is originally from Corsica, lived in Paris before moving to Helsinki. Sam has lived near Helsinki his whole life, except the years he spent in London. Hazy is from the capital city area.
How would you describe your band for those who don’t know you?
The band is basically – good time rock n’ roll! We’re all influenced by different musical tastes & stuff but, we’re five individual members & each plays an important part in the chemistry of “Damian Cullen Band”. We all have a great passion for music & we love playin’ live, the people who listen to our music & come to our shows, come from all walks of life & are all ages from 16 to 60. We have punks/goths/Emo’s/glamrockers/rock n’rollers. Everything! It’s music for all ages a little bit like a Ramones gig. But, sadly no more! We’re just tryin’ to bring the fun back to the music of 2010.
When did you form as a group?
The Damian Cullen Band has only been together a few months, but we’ve been workin’ really hard from day one. Playing gigs & tryin’ to build a following & stuff (It seems to be working out).
What was the inspiration for your recent album?
I’m writing, recording, makin’ promotional music videos & workin’ on art work for Damian Cullen Band’s debut L.P at the moment. It’s hard! Not enough hours in the day! We don’t have any record company backing, giving us money. We don’t even have a manager ah! ah! ah! I’ve alot of songs knockin’ around in my head & I just need to get them down & recorded in some studio & hopefully put them out. I’d like to call the L.P “Arachnophobia”. I had a nick name “Spider” for along time! That’s another story ah! ah! ah!
What other releases do you have?
Afew years back I was in L.A with “Endorfiends” glam/punk London-based band. Dave Tregunna (ex-Lords Of The New Church/Sham 69/Shooting Gallary) on bass. We played a hand full of U.K shows then toured the west coast of America & recorded an L.P but it was only on sale in Japan & the U.S.A. I’ve wrote & recorded a hell of alot o’ songs (demos) in the past year or so & I want to pick an L.P’s worth of favorite songs, a little bit like the best of… ah! ah! ah!
What is your favorite song on your most recent album?
I would really love to put all my favorite songs on the album. Songs that I love singing like ‘Turn The Lights Down Low’, ‘You’re An Angel’, ‘Supersonic’, ‘Shangrila America’…blar! blar! blar! It would be wonderful to see a Damian Cullen L.P on sale in the major music stores. Who knows? Anyway, I’ve just wrote a couple o’ new songs ‘Popcorn Girl’ & ‘I’m O.K’ I’m really lookin’ forward to sticking them in the live set, I really hope the fans will like it?

What’s your favorite type of venue to play?
We don’t really care where we play! A gig is a gig & we’re just trying to spread the Damian Cullen word. We’d play any bar, club or toilet in Finland ah! ah! ah!
If you could play anywhere in the world this week, where would it be?
I’d love to play some place warm? Somewhere in Africa! I think it’s warm this time of year ah! ah! ah!

What are your influences as a band?
I listen to all kinds o’ music from Irish folk to 50′s & 60′s rock n’ roll to Motörhead, even ABBA at times…music for moods! I’m a music junkie!
People who enjoy your music tend to like what other bands?
I think people who tend to like the music from HIM or The 69 Eyes, the goth/glam/punk rock n’ roll seem to like what we do?
Are you signed to a label?
We’re not signed to anyone yet. We haven’t even been looking but If you’re a company willing to help us in any way & would like to contact us? Please feel free to do so.
Where do you think you’ll be as a band in 5 years?
We’d like to think in five years time that as a band & we’d still be around & doing what we enjoy!
