12/09: V For Violence
Violence With A Capital V…

V For Violence
V For Violence, self-proclaimed ‘Finnish Plague’, began back in the early 2000′s…with just three members: J. Salò, Jay Tan and Mr. Kunt. Over the next few years members changed but by 2008, the band had landed their present lineup and became a quintet of deviants. The band now consisted of J. Salò, Jay Tan, Mr. Kunt along with new members, Varjo and Kock.

In 2008, the band released their a self-financed promo, simply titled ‘Promo 2008′. Within a month of publishing their tracks on their MySpace page, the band received an offer to do a music video for their opening track off of the promo, ‘Boy Called Fucker’. Shortly thereafter, the band received even more unexpected news: A deal to make a whole album of violence.
V For Violence aims to keep their music as effective as possible. All unecessary artistic ‘ego-fucks’, epic middle parts, orchestras and ‘instrumental-whatevers’ are not found in their songs. V For Violence has a tendency to balance their music between furious aggression and melancholic interpretation.
Though the music is basically metal, it has more to it than just that. Influenced by many styles of music such as different subgenres of metal, rock, pop and even some punk, V For Violence brings together quite an interesting concept. Music not just for metalheads but for a much wider and bigger audience.

In short, V For Violence brings the Devil a little bit closer to mainstream…
