Where In Finland Are You From?
Helsinki/Tampere
How Would You Describe Your Band For Those Who Don’t Know You?
Rain Diary is something deep, dark, innovative, something to awake your feelings – something that may help one to overcome sadness and sorrow.
When Did You Form As A Group?
During the spring of 2007.
What Was The Inspiration For Your Recent Album?
Life: past, present and fear of the future; things we’ve all heard, seen, felt and left undone.
What Other Releases Do You Have?
This is our first EP but there’s more to come before Christmas 2008.
What Is Your Favorite Song On Your Most Recent Album?
‘It’s Only Rain’ (tough little argument about this did occur…
)
Do You Have Any Gigs Coming Up?
We’ll play smaller gigs in Tampere, then we support Shamrain in Torvi and Lahti. In the autumn, we play at the Helsinki Night Of The Arts; Molly Malone’s back yard rock.
What’s Your Favorite Type Of Venue To Play?
Nice places with the right atmosphere…and people in the right state of mind.
If You Could Play Anywhere In The World This Week, Where Would It Be?
Wembley, London
Do You Have A Website, Trig, MySpace, Facebook Etc.?
Please visit our MySpace and also in our Website.
What Are Your Influences As A Band?
We listen to all kinds of music and we all come from different places musically, but I think that is a huge strength in our band. You can hear a little bit of The Beatles, Pink Floyd and stuff like that in our songs. Perhaps the biggest influence to us all is Anathema. A band which we have huge respect for.
People Who Enjoy Your Music Tend To Like What Other Bands?
Anathema, Placebo, The Cure and all the music with emotion in it.
Are You Signed To A Label?
No, but there’s something bubbling under….
Where Do You Think You’ll Be As A Band In 5 Years?
Making good music that touches one’s soul. Playing good gigs around Europe and having fun as a group (let’s hope that all six will be alive – it’ll be a hell of a road, you know…)
Is There Anything Else People Should Know About Rain Diary?
We’re a very, very solid unit. Although we haven’t been together as a band for a long time, we’re almost a family-like unit. We’re truly all for one and one for all group. That’s a very important strength, and we believe it can be heard in our music too. We’ll fight together until the bitter end.
Sincerely, Teemu/Rain Diary
