How Would You Describe Your Band For Those Who Don’t Know You?

Kaisa:

We’re an energetic group of women playing raunchy old school rock with flavours of this millennium.

When Did You Form As A Group?

Katja:

2002 but with this line-up since 2007.

What Was The Inspiration For Your Recent Album?

Kaisa:

I guess you could sum it up so that it is an excellent album for drinking beer and having a good time with your friends.

What Other Releases Do You Have?

Rodeo Roll 7", Snapshot single, Escort single.

What Is Your Favorite Song On Your Most Recent Album?

Kaisa:

Actually, we still haven’t fully decided which of the songs we recorded will make it to the album but my personal favourites are ‘Aggression’ and ‘Twisted Little Sister’.

Do You Have Any Gigs Coming Up?

Katja:

Yes, several during the summer. Around Finland and possibly in Estonia and Sweden too.

What’s Your Favorite Type Of Venue To Play?

Kaisa:

I guess it depends a lot on the audience. Sometimes it feels that the smaller the venue, the crazier the show gets…But on the other hand, it’s very nice to play on bigger stages too.

If You Could Play Anywhere In The World This Week, Where Would It Be?

Kaisa:

That’s a tough one…Maybe somewhere in L.A., Whisky could be nice (and the weather too!)

Do You Have A Website, Trig, MySpace, Facebook Etc.?

Katja:

We have MySpace and you can find us on Facebook too (band site and a group).

What Are Your Influences As A Band?

Kaisa:

I think we all have somewhat different influences and basically that’s what makes us the band we are. For example, I’m influenced by Finnish bands such as Smack, but my favourites also include AC/DC, Runaways, Alice Cooper (especially the older stuff), Motörhead and Girlschool.

People Who Enjoy Your Music Tend To Like What Other Bands?

Kaisa:

We have a wide range of people who like our stuff so it’s kind of hard to say…I would think at least AC/DC and Motörhead.

Are You Signed To A Label?

Kaisa:

Not yet, you could say we’re waiting for the right partner .

Where Do You Think You’ll Be As A Band In 5 Years?

Kaisa:

I’d like to think by then we’ve made at least 4 full-length albums and have toured in Europe, the States and Japan…that would be nice!

Is There Anything Else People Should Know About Barbe-Q-Barbies?

We’re currently in the studio working on our debut album.
