Where In Finland Are You From?

Anomus was founded in Imatra but nowadays we live in different parts of Finland: Helsinki, Joensuu, Imatra and Lappeenranta. We hope that by the end of next fall we all will be living in Helsinki.

How Would You Describe Your Band For Those Who Don’t Know You?

We play modern Finnish rock music with a twist. We take influences for example from yesteryears’ progressive rock to present day alternative rock and pop.

When Did You Form As A Group?

In summer 2004.

What Was The Inspiration For Your Recent Album?

Pussy and the leading of Dionysus.

Do You Have Any Gigs Coming Up?

Yeah, but only in Finland.

What’s Your Favorite Type Of Venue To Play?

Shady club with a little bit of David Lynch vibe, because I think some of our songs are best to be played in somewhat of Lynchian atmosphere. But of course some summer rock festival venues would be great too, because we have always brighter side with us.

If You Could Play Anywhere In The World This Week, Where Would It Be?

Actually before conquering the world we should conquer Finland, so I think we would like to play the most in the famous Tavastia club in Helsinki.

What Are Your Influences As A Band?

I think we take influences from everything we hear and we listen a hell of a lot of music. But maybe nowadays some modern progressive rock bands like Porcupine Tree and CMX have made a little bit bigger influence than others. Or at least I hear some echoes of those groups in our new – yet unreleased – material.

People Who Enjoy Your Music Tend To Like What Other Bands?

Some Finnish bands that I would suggest: Don Huonot, YUP, CMX, Sara.

Are You Signed To A Label?

Nope, but I hope that we will be in someday soon.

Where Do You Think You’ll Be As A Band In 5 Years?

I hope that we are recording our third studio album – after two critically acclaimed best-selling albums
