Rockin’ The Moist Way…
Moistmaker was formed in 2004 when Jude joined Sami, Axa, Hege and Lilli in the band, then without a name, as their singer. After a year of rehearsing and writing songs, the group of five named themselves Grooving Target. They entered the studio to record their first demo in May 2005.
The demo consisted of five songs (Bitchin’ Switch, The Captain, Undone, Cautious Love and Everything’s Gone). It was sent to a bunch of record companies, radio stations, music magazines and websites, receiving mixed feedback. Some people liked it, some didn’t, but most of the reviews noticed the potential of the band. In late 2006, Bitchin’ Switch was chosen as "demo of the week" by Finnish radio station YleX and it got some radio play.
In November 2006, Lilli parted ways with the band but soon after, a new bassist was found. Samu joined the group that December, right before the first proper Grooving Target gig, which was played on January 27th, 2007 to a surprisingly large crowd. After the gig, the band officially changed their name to Moistmaker.
Their second demo was recorded in May 2007. The band spent some damn fine quality time in the studio recording. Five guys, three days. One thing led to another and before they knew it, a demo had been born. Four of the six songs recorded made the cut. Mixing, mastering and other things took a while, but now the demo is finally ready to be sent out in every direction possible.
The near future includes lots of gigs, promotional work and hard work at the old rehearsal place. And another demo will be recorded as soon as there is enough time to spare and a place to spare it at. There’s a truckload of kickass songs just dying to be heard so check back often for updates on that one. Until then, make a lot of moist, everybody!
