Why were the members of FIRE▲L chosen?

I wanted a group of very talented musicians who had the right attitude and wanted to do this thing seriously and dedicate themselves to this band. Thankfully I succeeded in that!

How many instruments do you play?

I play the guitar (I played most of the guitars on ‘The Imperia’) and piano as well, also bass and drums well enough.

If you had the opportunity to play with another band/artist, who would it be and why?

I’d love to sing/play with Eddie Vedder or Pearl Jam, one of my greatest influences as a kid.

Since you started your music career have you ever thought of giving it up? If yes, why?

Of course there are times when some things bring you down so much that you play with the idea of quitting but music is such a big part of me and has been since child, and since I’ve had this idea of FIRE▲L for so long, that wouldn’t make much sense, now would it?

How does Finnish culture and/or heritage influence your music?

I never was much of fan of the Finnish music scene as a kid, but later on I’ve found some artists/bands I’ve come to like, but I still don’t like the popular Finnish music scene, I’m more into the artistic stuff.

What makes you happy (besides music)?

Do you always carry a pad of paper and a pen/pencil with you, just in case a lyric(s) pops into your head?

I used to do that, but now I just write the ideas down on my cell phone. Haha welcome to the 21st century!

What do your fans mean to you?

Fans mean the world to me. When Bleak broke-up and for a moment it seemed I had no support from anyone else, the fans were there for me. So I’m really grateful for all the support I’ve got from the fans – the true fans – who’ve stood by me the whole time. Thank you ♥

How old were you when you first began writing music/lyrics?

I wrote my first songs on the piano when I was 6 years old, but I didn’t start writing lyrics until I started writing songs with the guitar, I was twelve at that time.

If you weren’t a musician, what other profession would you see yourself doing?

Besides writing songs, I do a lot screen writing and graphic design, I’ve always loved drawing and painting and I’m writing a novel – so I could easily see myself doing something like that for living. Acting is also something that has fascinated me for a long time!

In your upcoming album, ‘Molotov Cocktails’, which song is your favorite and why?

It really changes, but I really like The Imperia, maybe because the song turned out the way I really wanted it
